Also, just came across this short documentary that addresses the question: “What is LARP?” The players discuss how accepting the LARPing community is, how it’s no longer strange to see women heavily involved, how LARPing helps give you a break from a mundane 9-5 job, and much more. I really enjoyed watching this. Check it out if you have a second:

“This is a documentary about Live Action Role Play and what it is from the players point of view. This was filmed at Dargarth First Kingdom in Seattle, WA but is a sample of LARP philosophy in general.”

Episode 4 out tomorrow!!!

Launch photos and Larping.org interview

2 posts in 1 day? Am I insane? Possibly. Maybe by the end of the post you’ll see the crazy.

Our wonderful friends at Larping.org (who have been helping promote the series) have published an exclusive interview with a whole bunch of us. Please give it a read! Some very insightful questions were asked and you get to read all of our different answers.

And here are some more GIFs, courtesy of Julian himself! May I present:

Episode 3 only a few measly hours away!

Post-launch madness!

If I thought things would settle down after the launch I was sorely mistaken. Not that I’m complaining! Episodes 1 and 2 are out in the universe and the response has been great so far. Episode 3 tomorrow!

We also got some very timely press over the last few days:

  • First off, Diary of a Croatian larper interviewed several members of the cast. It’s great to read everybody’s different responses!
  • Secondly, Geeked Out Nation gave us a fantastic review of Episodes 1 and 2: “Overall LARPs: The Series is a series that everyone should watch. It’s something you can click, start seeing how fun, engaging and creative it is, then possibly feel the urge to want to play too. That is the best thing about this series, it is able to reach a wider audience. You don’t have to be a LARPer to enjoy what they do, in fact you’ll learn a lot from this if you had any misconceptions about what LARPing is up to this point…
BOTTOM LINE: Great start that proves to be entertaining for both LARPers and those unfamiliar of this hobby…Total Score: A.”

At some point this week I’m going to be making a post dedicated to art inspired by the series and its characters. There are some amazing pieces I can’t wait to share! Here’s a preview:

Episodes 1 and 2- “GM” and “Check”

First and foremost: wow, the launch was amazing. We had a fantastic turnout and a very positive response to episodes 0-4 (4 we threw in as a bonus). I’ll post more photos once the official ones are released, but here are a couple cellphone ones to give you an idea:

Oh, and Episodes 1 and 2 are out. Right now.

“In Their Own Words” – Shane/Astra

“IN THEIR OWN WORDS”: SHANE/ASTRA

In Game. Out of Game.

In Game. Out of Game.

“I play Shane who is Astra in-game. Shane takes the game very seriously. She makes a point of knowing all the rules and how everything works so she can bend things to her advantage. Despite taking the game seriously she still makes a point of keeping it, and its players, at arm’s length. ”
